Whereas petitioner former councilor Himanshu Mittal says that the Municipal Corporation is not worried about the taxpayers. If there is concern, the corporation officials could have filed an affidavit in the court not to increase the tax.
Petitioner Himanshu Mittal said that in the financial year 2024-25, the Municipal Corporation had collected approximately Rs 330 crore in tax. About two months are left for the completion of the current financial year. Only about Rs 200 crore has been recovered so far this financial year.

Non-appearance of lawyers on time is creating hindrance in the decision of house tax. On 19 November 2025, 26 November 2025 and 16 January 2026, the advocate was found absent in the court room even when called.
