Jagran correspondent, Amroha. After an altercation between Muslim youth and Shiv devotees who had returned from Haridwar with Kanwad, stone pelting took place between both the sides.
This caused a stir. Stone pelting took place even in the presence of the police who reached the spot. Five people including a constable were injured in the incident. Who have been admitted to the city CHC. For security reasons, heavy police force has been deployed at the spot. There is anger among the people of Hindu side due to the incident. They created a ruckus demanding the arrest of the accused.
This case is of Mohalla Chhebra of Nagar Kotwali area. There is a Shiva temple here on Kailasa bypass. A group of people from the locality had gone to Haridwar to collect Ganga water. On Saturday evening he reached Amroha with Kanwar and was staying at the Shiva temple. Here the Kanwariyas were dancing and singing to the tune of the DJ. It is alleged that about 100 meters away from the temple, youths from the Muslim community were standing on the road and having a birthday party.
It is alleged that Muslim youth made objectionable remarks about Hindu religion. Therefore, the people involved in Kanwadis opposed it. Also asked the Muslim youth to leave from there. There was an altercation between both the parties regarding this matter. It is alleged that when the Muslim youth were cutting the cake, their number was only seven, but after an altercation, they called their other friends as well.
After that everyone together pelted stones at the Shiva devotees present at the temple. Then there was stone pelting from both sides. On receiving the information, Dial-112 police team arrived. It is alleged that during this time, people of the Muslim community kept creating ruckus in front of the police and started fighting with the Kanwariyas and the police pelted stones heavily.
During this time, constable Shoaib Raza Khan, who was trying to convince the people, bled to death after being hit by a stone on his head. While four other people including Vidya Devi and Shikhar were also injured. When the city police station also arrived, the accused escaped. Police have also seized a scooter from the spot.
After the incident, people of Hindu community created a ruckus. Demanded arrest of the accused. He has also been accused of pelting stones at Shiva devotees and Kanwars. Along with CO Abhishek Yadav, Dehat police station was also present on the spot. Police force has been deployed for security. SP Amit Kumar Anand said that the accused are being identified. He will be arrested soon. At present the matter is calm.
