Girl injured after being bitten by a cat. Awakening

Jagran correspondent, Ghaziabad. The pet cat injured the girl while she was sleeping. Her father Bilal reached the OPD of District MMG Hospital with three year old Hanjala. On the doctor's advice, the girl was immediately given the first dose of anti-rabies vaccine. TT injection was also given.

It has been learned that cat bite cases are increasing these days. A total of 234 people of the city reached government hospitals on Thursday to get anti-rabies vaccine after being bitten by dogs, cats and monkeys. Of these, 102 people including 47 children got the first dose.

The first dose was given to 62 people, including 34 children, out of 137 in the District MMG Hospital and 40 people, including 13 children, out of 97 in the Joint Hospital. Apart from this, ARV was also administered to 18 elderly people. Under the National Rabies Control Programme, anti-rabies vaccine doses are administered free of cost in government hospitals of the district.

Seven trainee doctors found

District MMG Hospital has got seven trainee doctors. All the doctors will provide services in the hospital for the next three months. Of these, two will provide services in medicine, two in ENT, two in orthopedics and one in dermatology section. Under the scheme implemented by the government level, it is mandatory for trainee doctors doing MD to provide three and six months of service in the district hospital.

There is a provision to send the above on VIP duty along with OPD and emergency. Dr. Santram Verma said that both the doctors assigned to the Physician Section have started seeing patients.
