Jagran correspondent, Noida. In Noida, cyber thugs duped a former IAS officer living in Sector-15A of Rs 1.91 lakh by sending a message of challan. The victim has filed a case in the cyber crime police station.

Told that the swindlers had already defrauded him of Rs 99 thousand in the name of electricity bill dues in June 2022. Jagmohan Lal Bajaj, resident of Noida Sector-15A, is a retired IAS.

According to the victim former IAS, a message came on his mobile from an unknown number on December 29. There was information about issuing a challan for driving a vehicle at the prescribed speed. There was a warning to make immediate payment to avoid additional fine.

He ignored the message, but on January 5, another message was received in the name of Transport Ministry Alert. Considering the message as genuine, he started completing the process online. The thugs got the form filled by taking information about the car number.

When he used his credit card to deposit Rs 500, the fraudsters obtained the card details. After some time, when I received the message of payment of Rs 1.91 lakh, I realized that I had been cheated.

He complained to NCRP portal and cyber crime police station. DCP Cyber ​​Shaivya Goyal said that a case has been registered in the matter and investigation is being done.
