North Eastern Railway team with the Railway Protection Force Basketball Champion Trophy. Awakening

The final match of the ongoing 32nd All India Railway Protection Force Basketball Competition-2025 was played on Saturday at the Syed Modi Railway Stadium on behalf of the Railway Protection Force. In which North Eastern Railway performed brilliantly and won the title by defeating Northern Railway by 64-50 points.

In the final match, Bhim Singh, Ram Asare Yadav, Deepak Kashyap, Suryabhan Singh, Vijay Kumar and Ajay Mall performed brilliantly on behalf of North Eastern Railway. The team kept the match in its favor by maintaining the lead from beginning to end. Rajesh Dahiya, Sunil Mahala and Rajendra showed a fighting performance from Northern Railway, but the team remained the runner-up. Southern Railway got the third place in the competition.

In the closing ceremony, chief guest General Manager Uday Borvankar presented trophies and awards to the winning and runner-up teams. Expressing his gratitude to the Director General, Railway Protection Force, New Delhi for organizing the event, he said that this competition was conducted in a very cordial atmosphere and the players showed excellent sportsmanship.

He said that the Railway Protection Force is now participating in inter-railway competitions as a strong unit of the Railways, thereby giving the players an opportunity to compete at the national and international level. Also, RPF is fully committed towards the safety of railway passengers and protection of railway property.

Principal Chief Security Commissioner RPF, North Eastern Railway Tariq Ahmed said that a total of eight teams of men's category participated in the competition. A total of 16 matches were played by dividing the teams into two pools. Based on the performance in the competition, the Indian Railway Protection Force team will be selected, which will participate in the Inter-Railway Basketball Competition and All India Police Games.

During this, key department heads, senior railway officers, representatives of various regional railways, officials of Basketball Association Gorakhpur and North Eastern Railway Sports Association and a large number of sports lovers were present.
