Zaheer Hasan, Baghpat. Under the special campaign of SIR of the district, BLOs read out and showed the voter lists at 1081 booths.

It was a huge blow to hundreds of women whose husbands got their votes, but they continued to find their names in the voter lists. The faces of those who found their names in the voter lists lit up and those who were left returned confused about the documents required to cast their votes.

It was seen at many booths that women's votes were not cast, but their husbands' votes were cast. Due to lack of mapping in Sisana village, 60 votes were deducted at one booth, all of which were women.

In the same village, 198 votes were lost at the second booth and 80 votes were lost at the third booth, all of which were women. At the fourth booth, 168 votes did not appear in the draft list, of which 80 percent are women. 298 votes were lost at a booth in Gauripur Jawaharnagar village, more than half of which were women.

122 votes were lost at one booth in Niwada, of which more than 70 percent were women. Most of those who were not mapped in Naithala village are women. Some did not have a PAN card, some did not have documents proving their date of birth, and some could not provide proof of their name or that of their ancestors by asking for the voter list of 2003 from their maternal home.

Many BLOs told that if a woman's maternal vote was taken in 2003, then her father's name was recorded instead of her husband's. Similarly, in the Aadhar card, the name and address of the father has also been changed instead of that of the husband. For these reasons, women are facing difficulty in getting votes.

Also read- 35000 notices issued in Baghpat, but only 561 reached the people, now the voter list will be read out at 1081 booths of the district.

Choudharyin... do not talk about home matters outside.

I heard a woman returning after seeing the voter list at a booth in Sarurpurkalan village telling her husband that I had earlier told you to bring the voter list from your parents' house, in which the names of my parents are there, but you were not ready to listen. Now that my vote has been cut, you must be feeling relieved.

The husband laughed and said, 'Don't get angry, Chaudharyin. You don't talk about family matters outside like this.' Someone will listen and make fun of us. Don't worry...your vote will be cast, because now is the time to cast your vote.

Wish will be fulfilled after 29 years

-51 year old Suresh Devi, wife of Ramesh, is a native of Dadhedu village of Muzaffarnagar district. 29 years ago, his house was near the petrol pump street near Gauripur turn, hence his vote was registered in the voter list of Niwada village, but a few years ago he sold his house and took it to a colony in Gauripur village. She said that now I have come to Gauripur Jawaharnagar to get votes.

Representatives of political parties missing

On visiting the booths of various villages, representatives of political parties were not found anywhere. The opposition keeps making noise about SIR, but fails to send its representatives to the booths to help the people and get votes.

Political parties did not get any representative at many booths in Naithala, village Gauripur, Sisana and Baghpat. In Niwada, only SP's Sagir Ahmed was seen helping people in getting votes.
