Dr. Bhagwat addressing the program organized at Lepa Rehabilitation in Khargone.

Digital Desk, Indore. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat said on Wednesday that at many places people ask him to declare India as a Hindu nation, but I believe that what is the need to declare what is already there? The sun rises from the east, no announcement is needed for this.

Explaining the importance of citizens, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat said that the government system and kings come and go but it is the responsibility of the people to decide the direction of the society. If the society becomes aware and responsible, the nation will automatically become stronger.

The identity of any country is not formed only by the governance system, but by the conduct, values and social responsibility of the people living there. The responsibility of nation building is not only of the rulers but of every citizen. Dr. Bhagwat said this in a thought-provoking program organized by Shri Ramakrishna Vishwa Sadbhavana Niketan at Narmadalaya Ashram of Lepa Rehabilitation Village in Kasrawad Tehsil of Khargone district.

He said that great men like Tantya Mama and Gadge Maharaj had not taken any formal education, yet they have special respect in the society. Divine qualities are present within us, we have to identify them, bring them out and acquire their knowledge. In his address, Dr. Bhagwat praised the efforts being made for education and self-reliance in Narmadalaya Ashram and described it as an ideal example for the society. About 300 guests were invited to the program. These included former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Padmashree Mahesh Sharma, Narmada Trust Chairman Nitin Karmakar etc.

Narmadalaya Ashram was started by chance

The foundation of Narmadalaya Ashram was laid by a coincidence in the year 2009. Founder Bharti Thakur Didi is now known as Pravrantika Vishuddhanandji. He left the job of Defense Ministry and established Narmadalaya. She told that during Narmada Parikrama, she had stayed at a villager's house in Lepa village due to her ill health. While talking to the children here, when I saw the level of their education, a resolve arose in my mind to do something for education. This idea took the form of Narmadalaya Ashram.

The beginning was very simple. Only 14 school dropout children came here on the first day. Today 800 children are studying here. Various social works are carried out in Narmadalaya (Nimar Abhyudaya Rural Management and Development Association) Ashram. A temple named Shri Ramakrishna Vishwa Sadbhavana Niketan has been built in the ashram premises. It was inaugurated during a ritual that lasted from 15 to 17 January. Statues of great men like Swami Ramakrishna Paramahansa, Swami Vivekananda are installed here.
