India sent consignment of 10 more Bailey bridges to Sri Lanka (Photo- ANI)
IANS, Colombo. India on Saturday sent a consignment of 10 bailey bridges to Colombo to help restore vital connectivity in parts of the country badly hit by Cyclone Ditvaha.
"India stands with Sri Lanka in its reconstruction efforts following Cyclone Ditvaah. A consignment of 10 Bailey Bridges was today flown from Visakhapatnam to Colombo aboard INS Gharial to assist in restoring vital connectivity," the Ministry of External Affairs said.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the supply of the bridges is part of India's $450 million special economic package, which was announced recently during External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's visit to Sri Lanka, following emergency disaster risk reduction assistance by India through Operation Sagarbandhu.
