Alka Lamba addressing the media.

Digital Desk, Indore. Mahila Congress National President Alka Lamba has welcomed the intervention of the Supreme Court on the objectionable remarks made about Colonel Sophia Qureshi. He called it a victory for the brave daughter of the country and the honor of the army. Lamba said that Colonel Sophia Qureshi performed her responsibility with honesty and courage, but a BJP minister has embarrassed not only the army but the entire country by insulting her on the basis of religion.

During a discussion with the media in Indore, Alka Lamba said in sharp words that spreading hatred by calling an army officer “sister-daughter of Pakistan” is highly condemnable. If the minister concerned has any morality left, he should immediately resign from his post.

Government cornered on Bhagirathpura incident

Lamba also strongly attacked Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya regarding the Bhagirathpura contaminated water scandal. He said that so far 32 people have died in this area. People kept drinking contaminated water and losing their lives by trusting the Municipal Corporation, but the responsible ministers remained insensitive. If moral responsibility had been fulfilled, the minister should have resigned after the first death.

Questions on SIR, allegations of threat to democracy

Regarding SIR, Alka Lamba clearly said that Congress opposes it. He alleged that it is being used as a weapon to steal votes and the role of constitutional institutions including the Election Commission is under doubt. This is not just the defeat of Congress but of the entire democracy.
