Blood sample collection of patients stopped without superintendent's order
Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. The pathology center in SKMCH, which is open from 9 am to 5 pm, is being closed at 1 pm. Due to this, samples are not being collected for pathology testing of the patients who come for treatment in the evening OPD.
He has to travel for three days for investigation. More than three hundred patients are facing problems every day. The in-charge of the pathology department has not given the information regarding closure of the pathology center to the hospital administration.
Regarding the matter, Superintendent Dr. Mahesh Prasad said that he himself had been the HOD of the Pathology Department. Improving the pathology center is their first priority.
Central pathology centers will soon be started in SKMCH. A committee meeting has been called. Sample collection will take place at the pathology center from 9 am to 5 pm. He will issue orders for this soon.
In SKMCH, more than five hundred OPD patients are examined daily from 9 am to 1 pm. Apart from OPD, patients admitted in Indoor, ICU, CCU are examined.
There is 24-hour testing facility for patients admitted in emergency. The collection facility for pathology examination of patients arriving in the evening OPD was restored last week. This bagger has been closed due to any order.
It is being told that the Health Department has ordered the lab technician appointed under the outsourcing agency to take eight hours of duty. But the in-charge of the pathology department is getting the work done by the lab technicians in a capricious manner. Even the orders of the Superintendent are not being followed. The patient and his relatives have to suffer the consequences of this.
