DC reviews preparations for Amarnath Yatra 2026
Jagran correspondent, Udhampur. Ramban District Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ilyas Khan on Monday held a high-level meeting to review the arrangements of different departments for the preparations for Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026.
During this, he directed to make a time-bound action plan to conduct the yatra in an easy, safe and organized manner. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed that uninterrupted supply of electricity and drinking water, good health services, cleanliness, facilities at langar sites, proper arrangements at halting places and installation of public address system should be ensured during the yatra.
He especially stressed on better coordination and infrastructure at Lambar (Banihal) Yatra Camp, SASB Yatri Niwas and Chandrakot Langar site. He also directed to maintain smooth traffic on the National Highway and make adequate security arrangements.
JPDCL, Jal Shakti and Public Works Department were asked to ensure electricity, water and infrastructure, while municipal bodies were directed to make effective solid waste management plans.
On this occasion, Ramban SSP Arun Gupta, SSP Traffic NHW Raja Adil Hameed, ADC Varunjit Singh Charak, SDM Banihal Mohammad Naseeb Bajran and officials of different departments were present.
