Vineet Kumar, Ghaziabad. The accident that took place on GT Road on Sunday night left Shankarlal Garg's family in deep shock. 49-year-old businessman Shankarlal Garg, resident of Dasna Gate, was taken out of the drain by passersby and taken to the hospital immediately after the accident.
After the incident, his younger brother Yogesh Garg, while searching for him, later passed by the same spot where the police was investigating. But even after seeing the crowd, he could not understand that in the crowd which he thought was standing for the unknown, his brother had probably breathed his last.

Used to go to temple every night for 20 years
Yogesh Garg told that when his brother did not return home till around 12 o'clock on Sunday night, he set out to search for him. When he reached a little before Thakurdwara Tiraha via GT Road, Patel Marg and Navyug Market, police and some people were seen there.
He thought that a police investigation might be going on in the hotel, so he moved ahead without stopping. By that time his brother had been taken to the hospital. He was roaming in the city when he got a call from the policeman at around 1.30 in the night and was informed about the accident.

On reaching the hospital, it was found that his brother had been declared dead by the doctors. Knowing this, a mountain of sorrow fell on the family. Relatives say that Shankarlal used to go to the temple every night for the last 20 years and also used to throw garbage on the way. Who knew that this daily journey would become the last journey of his life.
Eyewitness told that they were taken to the hospital within five minutes
Hotel Samrat Green is next to the place where the accident took place on Sunday night. Hotel employee Rahul said that after the accident, a crowd of passers-by had gathered at the spot. Within five minutes, the scooter rider was taken out of the drain, put in a cart and taken to the hospital. Rahul says that the businessman was taken to the hospital in a garbage cart.
