Jagran correspondent, Bareilly. Railway Budget-2026 has given a new impetus to the direction of development of Junction and Izzatnagar Railway Division. In this budget, while the plan has been set to equip the junction with state-of-the-art facilities and make it a major center for premium trains like Vande Bharat, there is a preparation to change both the fate and picture of 70 stations of Izzatnagar division.

Apart from this, the division is also expected to get many Vande Bharat high speed trains soon. On Monday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav shared key highlights of the budget with the media through video conferencing. Apart from this, considering the number of tourists coming here due to Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, the beautification of the station will be on the theme of Tiger Reserve.

Along with this, local products will be promoted under One Station, One Product at selected stations under Amrit Bharat Scheme. The proposed projects at a cost of about Rs 270 crore will now get new momentum. Facilities like lifts, escalators, free Wi-Fi, better waiting rooms, upgraded platforms and airports will be developed at these stations.

Along with this, construction of double lane overbridge at gate number 371B on Bareilly-Baheri road is also proposed at a cost of Rs 66 crore. There are a total of 89 stations in Izzatnagar railway division. Of these, work is already going on at 17 stations under Amrit Bharat Yojana, while in the new budget, special emphasis has been laid on giving a modern look to 70 small and big stations.

During this, many senior officers including Divisional Railway Manager of North Eastern Railway, Izzatnagar Division Veena Sinha, ADRM Manoj Kumar, Senior DCM Sanjeev Sharma, Senior DOM Vijay Kumar, Senior DEN (Co-Coordination) Bharat Bhushan and Senior DFM Ratnesh Singh were present. However, the exact amount for each project will become clear only after the release of the Pink Book.

Home station of high speed trains will be built at the junction

In view of the increasing operations of modern trains like Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat, a state-of-the-art washing line with a capacity of 26 coaches has been approved at Bareilly Junction. This hi-tech washing line, to be built at a cost of about Rs 9.74 crore, will not only be a center for cleaning trains but will also become a center for repairing premium trains like Vande Bharat, Sleeper Vande Bharat. With this, the junction will move towards becoming not just a stopping point but also a terminating station for premium trains.

In view of the increasing number of trains at the junction, the need for yard re-modelling was felt for a long time. An amount of Rs 49 crore has been allocated for this in the new railway budget. Reorganization of the yard will develop new lines and platforms, which will eliminate the compulsion to park trains on the outer.
