Communal tension in Jabalpur, Hyderabad and Karnataka
Digital Desk, New Delhi. Violent conflicts are being witnessed between people of Hindu and Muslim communities in three states of the country, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka. Tension increased between the two communities during worship in the temple and namaz in the mosque in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
At the same time, people of Muslim community pelted stones at the procession taken out during Shivaji Jayanti in Bagalkot district of Karnataka. Apart from this, incidents of communal tension have also come to light during religious events in Hyderabad's Amberpet.
What happened in Hyderabad?
Shivaji Jayanti procession was passing in front of Jama Masjid in Amberpet, Hyderabad. At the same time, Ramadan prayers were going on in the mosque. During the procession, altercations started between the two sides over loud music and sloganeering. During this time, a YouTuber who was allegedly making a video was attacked by the mob.
After which tension increased between both the communities. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and controlled the situation. Amberpet police said, "A YouTuber was making a video near Jama Masjid in Amberpet. He was attacked by people. Coincidentally, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's procession was passing by, and both the groups were raising slogans. Our police officers were on the spot and controlled the situation."
Police further said, "The situation is under control now, and we have not received any complaint from anyone."
Tension near mosque in Bagalkot, Karnataka
In Bagalkot, Karnataka, the Jayanti procession was passing near the mosque, during which stones were pelted at the procession. Hindu organizations alleged that a stone flew from the mosque. The police have removed all the people gathered from both sides and the situation is under control.
Bagalkot SP Siddharth Goyal said, "Stone pelting took place during the Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti procession. Stones were thrown towards us too. But no one was injured. We will arrest the culprits and take strict action."
What happened in Jabalpur?
Puja was going on in the Durga temple at Azad Chowk in Sihora area of Jabalpur on Thursday night. During this time namaz was going on in the mosque. During puja and namaz, an altercation broke out between people of both the communities. Meanwhile, a young man tried to damage the grill of the Durga temple. Seeing this the Hindu youth got enraged.
A fight broke out between them. Within some time, many youths from the Muslim community came and started entering the temple premises. After this the dispute took a fierce form. Within some time a fight broke out between the two parties. As soon as information about the incident was received, police reached the spot.
The crowd was dispersed by firing tear gas shells to control the miscreants. After that the situation came under control. In view of the tension, a large number of forces have been deployed in the area.
