Jagran correspondent, Jamshedpur. Jamshedpur and Seraikela-Kharsawan district have been transformed into an impenetrable fortress for security reasons ahead of President Draupadi Murmu's visit on December 29.
To ensure that there is no lapse in security, not only the local police but also a large number of additional police forces from neighboring districts have been called. Elite Special Forces have taken over the responsibility of security of Karandih Jaherthan and NIT Adityapur campus. Since Friday, entry at these places without permission has been completely banned.
ground to sky surveillance
The administration has made the security system multi-layered. Along with the deployment of police and paramilitary forces on the ground, surveillance will also be maintained from the sky. Intelligence agencies and administrative officials are on high alert.
Seraikela Deputy Commissioner Nitish Kumar Singh and Superintendent of Police Mukesh Lunayat have jointly inspected the NIT campus and arrival-departure routes and taken stock of the security protocol. Strict instructions have been given to remove all the electric poles, hanging wires and construction debris coming in the route line.
Big change in factory shifts
To maintain smooth traffic and avoid congestion during the President's visit, the Seraikela district administration has issued a special advisory for industrial units. Labor Superintendent Avinash Kumar Thakur has directed all shift based factories and industrial establishments to change their working timings for December 29.
According to the order, the first shift on that day will end at 4 pm instead of 2 pm. At the same time, the second shift will be started only after 4 pm. This step has been taken so that the chaos on the roads at the time of shift change can be avoided and the President's convoy can pass smoothly.
There will be strictness on traffic
On December 29, traffic will be disrupted or restricted on many major roads of the district from 9 am to 4 pm. Route diversion plan has been prepared so that the general public faces minimum inconvenience. DC has clarified that 'zero tolerance' policy will be adopted against officers who are negligent in security and protocol.
All police station in-charges have been ordered to thoroughly check abandoned vehicles and suspicious objects in their areas. Additional police forces will be deployed at sensitive places and intersections so that law and order remains completely under control.
