Due to the continuously increasing cold in the district, while the district administration has directed to keep the schools closed on 5th and 6th January, Meteorological Center Ranchi has forecast a drop of 3 to 4 degrees in the minimum temperature by 5th, 6th and 7th January.
Due to which there is every possibility that the effect of cold will increase for the next three-four days. On Sunday, there was a mix of sun and shade throughout the day in the capital. Due to lack of sunlight, the effect of cold was visible.
At the same time, the effect of dense fog was also visible in the outer areas of the district in the early morning. Cold has affected normal life. However, despite the cold wave, crowds of people are being seen in the parks of the city.
Even on Sunday, there was partly cloudy sky in Ranchi throughout the day, due to which there was no effect of sunlight and people had to face Kankani.
The temperature will drop in the next three days
Talking about the weather in the last 24 hours, the weather remained dry in the entire state. Light and moderate fog was seen at some places in the state. The highest maximum temperature of 27.4 degrees Celsius was recorded in Chaibasa, while the lowest minimum temperature of 8.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Kanke.
At the same time, the maximum of 22.8 degrees Celsius and minimum of 10.7 degrees Celsius was recorded in the capital Ranchi. In the Weather Forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, Ranchi, it was told that on January 5, the effect of dense fog will be seen in the north-eastern part of the state, Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Pakur, Jamtara, Giridih and Sahibganj, apart from the north-western region i.e. Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra and Latehar.
At the same time, there will be a possibility of cold wave in the nearby central parts i.e. Ranchi, Ramgarh, Khunti, Hazaribagh, Gumla and Bokaro. The department has issued a yellow alert for these districts. At the same time, on January 6, there will be a possibility of cold wave at some places in the northwest and adjacent central parts.
Meteorologist Abhishek Anand said that the minimum temperature in the state is likely to drop by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius in the next three days on January 5, 6 and 7. After this, the temperature may gradually increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius for the next two days i.e. on 8 and 9 January.

It will be cloudy and there will be light and moderate fog in the morning and the weather will remain dry.
Kankani in Kanka, effect of cold persists between sun and shade
The effect of cold was clearly felt in the Kanke region during the last 24 hours. The morning started with chill but as the day progressed, sunshine brought relief to the people. According to the latest weather data, the maximum temperature of the area was recorded at 22.6 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the minimum temperature dropped to 8.3 degrees, due to which shivering increased in the morning.
Meteorologist Dr. Ramesh Kumar said that there was no impact of rainfall during this period and zero mm rainfall was recorded. The wind speed was also very slow, which was estimated at only 1.1 km per hour. Due to slow winds, the effect of cold remained almost constant throughout the day but the effect of Kankani was visible.
Amidst the cold of morning and evening, due to the sunshine in the afternoon, normal activity was seen in the markets, squares and roads. People were seen warming bonfires and sunbathing. According to weather experts, slight fluctuations in temperature are possible in the coming days, hence citizens have been advised to be alert from the cold.
