Jagran correspondent, Ranchi/Kanke. The cold in the district is not showing signs of decreasing. The effect of fog was seen in the capital and surrounding areas. The lowest temperature recorded in the entire state is 6.4 degrees Celsius.

Cold has affected the life of common people but the youth are enjoying it to the fullest. Despite the cold wave, crowds are being seen in the city parks. However, there was partly cloudy sky in Ranchi throughout the day on Saturday, due to which there was no effect of sunlight and people had to face Kankani.

The effect of severe cold continues in Kanke region. The weather remained dry in the last 24 hours but cold wind and falling temperature increased the problems of the people. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature was recorded at 21.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature dropped to 6.4 degrees Celsius.

Due to no rain, there was less humidity in the atmosphere, but the cold wind blowing at a speed of 2.2 km per hour has increased the chill. There was silence on the streets in the morning and late evening. People were seen taking help of bonfire, warm clothes and sunlight.

School going children and the elderly were seen taking special precautions. An increase in demand for warm clothes, sweaters and woolen shawls was recorded in the local markets. Weather experts say that the effect of cold may persist in the coming days, hence vigilance and caution is necessary.

There will be fog:

Talking about the weather in the last 24 hours, the weather remained dry in the entire state. Light and moderate fog was seen at some places in the state. The highest maximum temperature of 26.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Chaibasa while the lowest minimum temperature of 6.4 degrees Celsius was recorded in Kanke.

At the same time, the maximum of 22.8 degrees Celsius and minimum of 12.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in the capital Ranchi. In the forecast issued by Meteorological Center Ranchi, it was said that on January 4 and 5, the effect of dense fog will be seen in the north-eastern parts of the state i.e. Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Pakur, Jamtara, Giridih and Sahibganj, the north-western region i.e. Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra and Latehar and the adjacent central parts i.e. Ranchi, Ramgarh, Khunti, Hazaribagh, Gumla and Bokaro.

The department has issued a yellow alert for these districts. Meteorologist Abhishek Anand said that there is no possibility of any major change in the minimum temperature during the next 24 hours in the state. After this, the temperature is likely to drop gradually by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius for the next three days i.e. on 5, 6 and 7 January. In such a situation, the chances of increasing cold are continuously increasing.

Problems of school children have increased

The problems of school children have increased due to cold. Children of some schools open in the city are in a hurry to go to school in the morning. In such a situation, they have to wake up early in the morning. They are facing problems due to extreme cold in the morning.

Let us tell you that most of the schools of DAV group have opened while many schools will open by 5th and 6th January. Cambrian School will open on January 5, Sant Michael's School New Ashoknagar on January 6, JVM Shyamali on January 7, AG Church School on January 5 while for the junior section, Sant Michael's School Pundag will open on January 6, Eurokids School Morhabadi and Kanke on January 6, Lala Lajpat Rai Bal Mandir Senior Secondary School Pundag on January 5.
