Jagran correspondent, Jind. The main accused of firing at the shop of Narwana cloth merchant Naresh Jain and demanding extortion of Rs 50 lakh was arrested by Narwana CIA after an encounter. The accused was shot in both his legs. He has been admitted to Civil Hospital Narwana.
On Sunday afternoon, a miscreant gave a slip to cloth merchant Naresh Jain and then came out and opened fire at the shop. The bullet hit the glass of the shop. In the slip, extortion money of Rs 50 lakh was demanded and the names of Anoop Belrakhan and Chhoti Chapadia were written. Due to the incident, there was an atmosphere of fear in the entire business class.
SP Kuldeep Singh himself was keeping an eye on the matter. He formed five teams to catch the miscreants. At the same time, security was provided to Naresh Jain. Narwana CIA in-charge Sukhdev Singh received information at around eight o'clock on Tuesday evening that the main accused Anup Belrakhan was going on a bike towards Datasinghwala border.
Sukhdev Singh prepared the team and headed towards the border. The police surrounded the accused from all sides. After this, Anup Belrakhan, seeing himself surrounded, opened fire on the police team. Bullets were fired from both sides. In this, two bullets hit both the legs of Anoop and he fell there.
A bullet hit CIA in-charge Sukhdev in the chest, but he survived because he was wearing a bullet proof jacket. After this the police arrested Anoop and got him admitted to Civil Hospital Narwana.
Police are searching for other accused. SP Jind Kuldeep Singh said that the police has done a very brave job. Soon other accused in this case will also be arrested
