No consensus has been reached between the rights holders of Nanda Devi Temple Kurur and the Nanda Devi Rajjat Committee regarding the unanimous organization of Nanda Devi Rajjat. The committee has clarified that Rajjat will be organized only in 2027 and its date sheet will be issued on the day of Vasant Panchami festival next year.
Whereas, the Badi Nanda Jaat Organizing Committee in Kurud has announced to take out Badi Nanda Jaat from September 5 this year, which will start from Nanda Siddhpeeth Kurud and will culminate in Homkund on September 20. Along with this, the large caste calendar was also released by the committee.
On Vasant Panchami, after the Manauti (Uchyana) puja of the Rajjaat event at the Nanda Devi temple located in Nauti, Karnaprayag, it was decided that organizing the Rajjaat is not possible this year. After preparing the Panchang, Pt. S. Kothiyal told that the date for completion of the Yatra is 19th September this year. Chairman of the committee, Dr. Rakesh Kunwar said that in the year 2014, the Yatra had taken a break on September 4, but this time due to Musmal (Adhimaas), the date has been advanced by 15 days. So this time there will be no Rajjat. Committee General Secretary Bhuvan Nautiyal also agreed with this. District Magistrate Chamoli Gaurav Kumar said that the committee will be given all possible support at the administrative level in organizing the yatra next year.
On the other hand, in Nanda Siddhpeeth Kurur, after performing Panchang puja in the presence of Harendra Singh Rawat, Chairman of Badi Nanda Jaat Organizing Committee and Virendra Singh Rawat, Khadakdhari wholesaler of Nanda Devi, by performing Panchang Puja, the Gaud Brahmins announced the organization of Badi Jaat from September 5 this year. Pashwa of Nanda Devi also agreed to this. Kurud Temple Committee President Sukhveer Rautela said that the big caste associated with faith and tradition cannot be stopped under any circumstances. Said that the route map of Dev Dollis has also been prepared. Accordingly, the trolleys will go till Homkund.
