Earlier, more than 30 MLAs including Pramod Kumar had drawn attention to this issue. There was vigorous debate and sloganeering on this issue in the House.

Planning Minister's blunt answer

Planning and Development Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav clearly said that at present there is no plan to increase the amount. He said that this will be considered when the funds of MPs increase.

Many MLAs appeared dissatisfied with this reply of the minister. However, he indicated that the government is not closing the door completely. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, who was present in the Assembly, also intervened. He assured that the demands of the MLAs will be conveyed to the Chief Minister.

surrounded by example of other states

Pramod Kumar said that the current amount is not sufficient for development works. According to him, around Rs 1 crore is spent on various taxes. He gave the examples of Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and Uttarakhand.

Told that the amount of the scheme in these states is Rs 5 crore or more. Neeraj Kumar Bablu said that in Delhi this amount is Rs 10 crore. He said that the MLAs of Bihar should also get similar resources.

Inflation and construction cost issue

MLA Sunil Kumar raised the issue of rising prices of construction materials. He said that since 2023 the cost has increased by more than one and a half times. In such a situation, it is becoming difficult to get quality work done with the existing amount.

Many members described it as a matter related to the pace of development. The government has assured sympathetic consideration. Now it has to be seen what decision is taken on this demand in the upcoming budget.
