Jagran correspondent, Panipat. Thousands of employees and workers went on strike at Panipat Refinery on Monday demanding eight hours of work. There was a clash between employees, workers and security forces.

The employees started vandalizing with sticks. Many workers pelted stones at the security forces. The workers also overturned and vandalized several vehicles near the under-construction project. The local police used batons and mild force to stop the workers.

When the workers came to the gate from inside, the gate was closed by the Central Industrial Security Force personnel, no one was going to go inside nor could anyone come out. In such a situation, the workers created a ruckus inside. The Central Industrial Security Force got frustrated and in such a situation, both the gates were opened to disperse the workers inside and the workers created a ruckus and overturned many CISF vehicles inside. In such a situation, aerial firing was also done.

Many workers have told that for the last several days, planning was going on for today that the companies inside the plant are taking duty for 12 hours through contact. It should be reduced to eight hours. On Monday morning, the workers decided not to work. As workers kept coming and uniting in the companies. If a laborer works in any company, that laborer will work only for eight hours.
