The sender of the e-mail had sent e-mails to the Principal District Sessions Judge on 20 January 2025 and on 8 February 2026 and to the District Magistrate of Bhagalpur on 17 February, threatening to blow up the Court-Collectorate with a bomb.
In this case, the police became rest assured by deploying all the security measures in the court and collectorate premises but could not find out the person who sent the threatening e-mail.
The technical team of the cyber police station has not been able to trace the pin point. The network used to send the e-mail is used overseas, especially in the US.
Due to the e-mail threat, judicial officers, advocates and clients and officers and personnel in the Collectorate premises are afraid of something untoward.
Whereas on February 17, a criminal who had sent the threat of blowing up the gate of Jaunpur Court and Police Center of Uttar Pradesh to the District Judge was caught.
On February 22, Lucknow's ATS i.e. Anti Terrorist Squad, while intensifying the technical investigation, caught Vishal Ranjan who had sent threatening e-mails.
The accused Vishal Ranjan, who had threatened to blow up the gate of Jaunpur court and police line with a bomb, was arrested by the Lucknow ATS (Anti Terrorist Squad) team on 22 February from his rented house in Hadha Baba Narauli of Sidhari police station area.
He is a resident of Bakshpur village of Nizamabad police station of Azamgarh. ATS has also recovered five mobile phones, one laptop, memory card, four SIMs and Rs 21,000 in cash from the accused.
On February 17, 2026, Vishal had sent a total of five separate e-mails on the official e-mail ID of Jaunpur District Judge, threatening to blow up the court premises and Jaunpur Police Line Gate with a bomb and get Rs 1 lakh sent from the Chief Minister.
About 50 e-mail IDs of Proton Mail, Gmail, Out Look were recovered from him under different names and ATS was successful in recovering 20 Facebook IDs from different names.
Vishal Ranjan had created fake e-mail IDs from the IDs of people who were hostile to his area and using their mobile numbers, had threatened to bomb the Jaunpur court complex and the police line gate so that the police could arrest them all.
The ID of the person sending the e-mail is being traced, success has been achieved to some extent. The network used is from the USA. Where the nodal officer has been contacted.
