Jagran correspondent, Kaushambi. Vigilance Lucknow team arrested Lekhpal while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a person in Champaha market of West Sharira area on Monday afternoon. The Vigilance team caught the accountant red handed in a dramatic manner. During this period there was commotion there.
Bribe was demanded to get status certificate made
It is said that Champaha resident Bholanath Jaiswal had to get the status certificate made. For this, he was in talks with Mahendra Kumar Maurya, an accountant posted in Bani and Singhwal village. It is alleged that the accountant demanded Rs 10,000 from him.
The victim had complained to Vigilance
After the accountant demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 for getting the status certificate made, victim Bholanath Jaiswal complained to Vigilance. After investigation and found that bribery was true, Lucknow Vigilance team laid a trap to catch the accountant.
SDM said- suspension action will be taken
On Monday afternoon, Bholanath Jaiswal was giving Rs 10,000 to accountant Mahendra Kumar Maurya at the appointed place, when the vigilance team present there caught him. SDM Sadar SP Verma says that he has received information about the accountant being caught taking bribe, suspension action will be taken.
