Dialogue Associate, Benipur (Darbhanga). The murder incident that took place in Behera of Darbhanga four years ago had shocked the entire area. The brutal murder of Ghanshyam Jha during an assault on 28 November 2021 had shaken the family as well as the entire community.
The family struggled for a long time waiting for justice in this case. Ultimately, the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Maghavendra Singh has convicted six people in the case, while one accused was found innocent.
Now the final hearing of punishment against all the culprits will be held on 26th February. This verdict has given hope for justice in Bahera and surrounding areas, and is a reminder that the path of law and justice may be long, but ultimately truth prevails.
Six murder accused convicted
The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Maghavendra Singh has convicted six people in a murder case of Sessions Crime No. 250/21 and Bahera Police Station Case No. 286/21.
In this regard, Additional Public Prosecutor Poonam Jha said that the people of Bahera village who have been convicted in the murder case include Maharudra Jha, Dilip Jha, Sudhir Jha, Radha Jha, Kanhaiya Jha and Kundan Jha of Bahera.
Whereas Chandranarayan Jha, another accused in this case, has been acquitted by the court after finding him innocent. There will be a hearing and decision on the point of sentencing of all those declared guilty on 26 February.
Additional Public Prosecutor said that on 28 November 2021, Ghanshyam Jha of Bahera was murdered during a fight. Regarding this, Raman Kumar Jha, son of Ghanshyam Jha, had registered case number 286/21 in Bahera police station.
The court has convicted six people in this case under sections 447,148,341,323, 307, 499 and 302 of the Indian Penal Code. On the orders of the court, everyone has been taken into custody by the police.
