Jagran correspondent, Varanasi. A major initiative has been taken towards promoting clean energy in rural areas. The country's leading renewable energy company (Renew) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Varanasi District Administration.
Its main objective is to develop Paniyara village of Arajiline block as the first 'Model Solar Village' of Varanasi.
On this occasion, District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar appreciated this initiative and described it as in line with the vision of the Prime Minister 'PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme'. He expressed confidence that this project will be beneficial not only for Paniyara but for the entire district.
Vaishali Nigam Sinha, Co-Founder and Chairperson (Sustainability), Renew, said, “Our work to develop Paniyara as a model solar village is completely in line with the vision of PM Surya Ghar.
Through the Lighting Lives programme, we are committed to ensuring that clean energy is not just a technological transition but becomes a catalyst for sustainable social and economic change in rural India.
Two to three kilowatt on-grid solar plants will be installed on every house.
Paniyara village will be 100 percent solar village. On-grid solar plants of two to three kilowatts will be installed in each house. Solar plants will be installed in government schools, Anganwadi centers and Panchayat buildings of Paniyara.
Beneficiaries will get a solar plant costing around Rs 1,30,000 for just Rs 13,000 (after government subsidy and support from Renew). This initiative will not only reduce electricity bills, but will also help in environmental protection and reducing carbon emissions.
Chyawanprash is a part of every Indian's life, it reduces diseases and increases energy.
