Anurag Tyagi, resident of Najafgarh area of Delhi, was married to a girl from Delhi on 6 February 2013. He has a daughter. His wife alleges that her in-laws started harassing her when they did not give birth to a son and their dowry demands were not fulfilled. He was beaten badly.
Being upset, she came to her maternal home in the year 2015. Her husband had unilaterally divorced her in the court without informing her. An appeal was made against this order in the High Court. The High Court accepted his application. Despite this, the husband reached Naithla village of Baghpat Kotwali area with a wedding procession on Friday morning to get married for the second time.
After coming to know about this, she also reached here. She reached the wedding ceremony along with the police and informed about the matter. There was an uproar there. The police detained the groom Anurag and put him in lockup. The villagers took the wedding guests hostage.
This was also the bride's second marriage. Her relatives told that while finalizing the relationship, the groom had said that he was divorced from his first wife. It was not told that the divorce order has been stayed by the High Court, nor was it given information about a daughter. They have been cheated.
