Kolkata has won the IPL title three times
Sports Desk, New Delhi. Three-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders has taken big decisions before the IPL-2026 auction. The team did not retain its star all-rounder Andre Russell. This thing surprised everyone. However, Russell will remain in Kolkata, but not as a player but as a power coach. Apart from this, the team also released Venkatesh Iyer. Now the team has a chance to rebuild its team and add its strong players.
Kolkata is the team which is coming with a huge purse of Rs 64.3 crores and hence it will not shy away from bidding for its favorite players. The team is waiting for its fourth title.
Players bought on auction day
Cameron Green – Cameron Green's name came up. The base price of the Australian player is Rs 2 crore. Mumbai Indians were the first to pick up the paddle. Rajasthan Royals picked up the paddle at number two. There was a fight between the two for Rs 2.60 crore. Then Kolkata Knight Riders entered the field and picked up the paddle. Mumbai Indians were out of the race due to their purse. There was a clash between KKR and Royals. Green's price crossed Rs 12 crore. Clash continues between Royals and KKR. When the Royals were out of the race, Chennai lifted the pedal. CSK picked up the deal for Rs 13.80 crore. The clash between KKR and CSK started. Eventually, after a fierce tussle, KKR won and bought Cameron Green for Rs 25.20 crore.
Finn Allen – The name of New Zealand wicketkeeper Finn Allen came up. Their base price is Rs 2 crore. Kolkata Knight Riders bought Allen for his base price.
Mathish Pathirana - The name of Mathish Pathirana came up. Their base price is Rs 2 crore. Delhi Capitals first picked up the paddle for the Sri Lankan fast bowler. Lucknow also entered the race. There was a fight between Delhi and Lucknow to get Pathirana. Sri Lankan fast bowler crossed the Rs 5 crore mark. There is a fierce war going on between the two franchises. Pathirana crossed the 10 crore mark. When Delhi was out, KKR joined the race and made a bid of Rs 16 crore. Lucknow continued the war. KKR eventually bought Pathirana for Rs 18 crore. Pathirana became the most expensive Sri Lankan player in IPL.
Tejaswi Singh - Tejaswi Singh's name came up. Their base price is Rs 30 lakh. There was a fierce battle between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders to buy Tejashwi. Very soon Tejashwi's bidding price crossed Rs 2 crore. Kolkata Knight Riders bought Tejashwi Singh for Rs 3 crore.
Kartik Tyagi – The name of UP fast bowler Kartik Tyagi came up. Their base price is Rs 30 lakh. Kolkata Knight Riders bought Tyagi at his base price. Tyagi has given memorable performances for Rajasthan Royals in the past.
Prashant Solanki - Prashant Solanki's name came up. Their base price is Rs 30 lakh. KKR bought at base price.
Rahul Tripathi - The name of Indian batsman Rahul Tripathi came up. Their base price is Rs 75 lakh. Kolkata Knight Riders bought Rahul Tripathi at the base price. He returned to KKR.
Tim Seifert - New Zealand's wicketkeeper Tim Seifert's name came up. Their base price is Rs 1.50 crore. KKR picked up the paddle. KKR bought Tim Seifert for his base price.
Mustafizur Rahman – The name of Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman came up. Their base price is Rs 2 crore. Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings made the match exciting by raising the paddle. Delhi was out of the race, but KKR entered. A fight broke out between CSK and KKR.
