New phase of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan will start soon

Jagran Bureau, New Delhi. A new phase of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, launched to strengthen school education, will soon begin. In which there are preparations for major changes in the system of operation of schools including meeting the goals of developed India by 2047.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan presented a blueprint regarding this on Friday and also sought suggestions from the states. Under the new system, the entire responsibility of running the schools will be with the society while the government will only provide salaries and arrangements.

The Central Government has taken this initiative when the implementation of the new National Education Policy (NEP) has completed five years and the current phase of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan is also ending on 31 March 2026.

Due to this campaign, there has been a lot of improvement in school education in the last few years both in terms of infrastructure and quality, yet there are steps like increasing learning outcomes, reducing the burden of examinations, making education easier, achieving 100% Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) till class 12, technology and digitalization, which cannot be achieved without increasing social connectivity.

With this in mind, the Education Ministry has now decided to change the entire system of running schools. A draft has been prepared in this regard, in which a committee of intelligent sections of the society can be formed to run the schools.

Meanwhile, keeping in mind the challenges of school education, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has started discussions with states and experts related to the education sector regarding the form of the new phase of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.

In the first phase on Friday, he held discussions with Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Maharashtra, Telangana, Odisha, Gujarat, Assam, Tripura, Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir.

On this occasion, Pradhan said that all the states have their own better experiences related to education. Which he should share. He said that today the biggest challenge before us is to prepare the education system and manpower as per developed India.
