Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. Book parcels are not safe in trains. In recent times, goods worth lakhs sent through parcel booking were stolen, but they have not been recovered. Another case has come to light. Goods worth more than five lakhs sent from the parcel bogie of 18181 Tatanagar-Thawe train from Tata to Hajipur went missing.

The goods were leather goods from SriLeather of Bhavani Enterprises of Dhananjay Kumar, elder brother of state Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Minister Sanjay Singh.

It was told that the goods were booked and sent from Tatanagar to Hajipur on 23rd December. The goods have not been received even after four days. Regarding this, the minister expressed his displeasure with the railway officials regarding the arrangement.

His personal secretary has written a letter to the Railway Minister requesting him to recover 12 carton booking parcel material and make it available. Apart from the Principal Chief Commercial Supervisor of East Central Railway Headquarters, its copy has also been sent to the Divisional Railway Manager, Danapur.

The minister's elder brother has a showroom of Sri Leather in Hajipur. His luggage was booked on 23rd December and sent by Tata-Thaw Express. 12 cartons of leather goods, valued at Rs 532751, went missing.

After the minister's letter, many railway officials are feeling uneasy. Eventually someone stole the book parcel or with someone's connivance the leather goods went missing. Railway officials are busy finding out this.

It is said that some book parcels were delivered in Purulia. After this, a bundle of beedis was offered in Kiul. When the beedi bundle landed in Muzaffarpur, the parcel was found empty. When the train reached Hajipur, when the showroom staff went to bring the goods, it was reported missing.

Waited for two days. When the parcel did not reach, he wrote a letter to the Railway Minister on 25th December requesting him to recover it soon and make it available.
