Overrating and selling liquor at midnight is seen in the video
Jagran correspondent, Noida. On the instigation of the police and excise department officials, liquor is being sold at vendors' counters near the police station and outpost, overstaying and overnight. Its hallmark can be seen in the case of two videos being broadcast on Tuesday of over-staying and selling of liquor at nights in Mamura and Basai villages of Phase 3 police station area.
Even after the video was broadcast, the Excise Department officials did not take any concrete action. Insisted on conducting a campaign at night and getting the investigation done. On the other hand, negligence is prevalent when recently Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh had taken action against 11 policemen for negligence in patrolling and surveillance.
In a 54-second video on internet media, a person goes to the shop and says that he will get beer. The sound comes from inside the shutter. Give money and you will get beer. The person throws two Rs 100 notes near the shutter. The contract staff lifts the shutter and takes the money and gives a green tube can. He keeps only Rs 200, whereas the market price of beer is Rs 140.
This video is said to be of an English liquor and cold beer shop in Basai village late on Monday night. On the other hand, in the two minute 27 second video, a person from a model shop named Adda asks for tube beer, chakhna and pan masala. The staff is seen charging Rs 200 instead of beer costing Rs 140. The video is said to be from the model shop of Mamura village. The police station is a few steps away from here.
Food supply being done in the name of checking
Next week is New Year. Excise department officials are claiming that there is no overrating and the contracts are closed at the stipulated time at night, but on the ground the situation seems to be the opposite. Liquor is being sold at overrate after 10 pm. There is talk that departmental officers are resting in their rooms. The result of this carelessness is that liquor is being sold by opening shops late at night. This situation is present in all three zones.
Action will be taken after investigation
District Excise Officer Subodh Kumar Srivastava said that both the cases are in cognizance. Investigation will be done by running a campaign at night. If negligence is found, action will be taken to cancel the contract. Under no circumstances will overrating and opening of contracts after 10 pm be tolerated.
