Army Commander is strengthening the anti-infiltration grid by visiting the snow-frozen borders.

State Bureau, Jammu. Army Commander of the Northern Command, Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma's tour continues to boost the morale of the soldiers standing on the snow-frozen borders in Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen the anti-infiltration grid.

Army Commander Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma, who reached the Line of Control in North Kashmir, has instructed the local units to face security challenges by strengthening the intelligence system. Earlier, the Army Commander had visited Basantgarh in Udhampur district of Jammu division and reviewed the anti-terrorism preparedness. According to sources, the Army Commander will soon visit Rajouri district and take stock of the security situation there.

Meanwhile, as part of the campaign to accelerate the operational preparedness of the Army in Kashmir, the Army Commander took information about the current security challenges of the Line of Control in North Kashmir and the strategy to face them. As part of the campaign to boost the morale of the soldiers, the Army Commander also visited the High Altitude Warfare School in Gulmarg on Saturday and reviewed the ongoing training activities. Along with this he also visited the Army Aviation Squadrons in Kashmir Valley.

These units play the backbone role in ensuring quick response of active formations in emergency situations as well as providing essential logistics support to troops deployed in inaccessible areas. During the visit, the Army Commander reviewed the operational readiness of the aviation units and appreciated their contribution and also presented the Northern Command Flight Safety Trophy to two leading Army Aviation Squadrons.

At this time, the terrorists sitting on the launch pad at the border are planning infiltration under the cover of bad weather. In such a situation, the security grid has been strengthened in the interior areas along this Border Control Line. In this connection, a few days ago the Army Commander had visited Basantgarh in Udhampur district of Jammu division and reviewed the anti-terrorism preparations. During the visit, the Army Commander interacted with the commanders deployed at the ground level and asked them to face the security challenges with utmost vigilance.
