Jagran correspondent, Lucknow. A junior resident, a victim of love jihad, at King George's Medical University (KGMU) has been ordered to remain in the hostel compulsorily. A woman security guard has been deployed for his protection. She will accompany the victim while commuting from the hostel to the department. Chief Proctor of KGMU Prof. RAS Kushwaha has issued a letter to the victim in this regard.
The victim, a female resident, lives in a rented house in Thakurganj. The university administration has become alert to ensure that no untoward incident happens to them while traveling from there to KGMU. In this regard, the Chief Proctor has sent a copy of the letter to the victim along with the Registrar, Visakha Committee Chairman, Private Secretary to the Vice Chancellor and the security guard.
KGMU spokesperson KK Singh said that investigation by Vishakha Committee is going on. The accused has been suspended. He has been banned from coming to the university campus without permission. Further action will be taken on the basis of investigation. Police started investigation
In this case, the victim's mother had filed a case in Chowk Kotwali on Tuesday. The police have started investigating it. Inspector Nagesh Upadhyay said that the victim's statement will be recorded before the magistrate. Besides, medical examination will also be conducted. Action will be taken on the basis of the report. Detailed information regarding the matter has been sought from KGMU.

This was the whole matter
The victim's mother told that her daughter is a junior resident in KGMU. From July 2025, she came in contact with the accused Rameez Malik (name in the records of KGMU - Rameez Uddin Nayak), a resident doctor posted in KGMU. Rameez physically abused her by luring her into words. After this, pressure was created for religious conversion on the pretext of marriage.
The victim came to know that Rameez had earlier also converted a Hindu girl and married her. On this the victim refused to marry Rameez. Rameez had blackmailed the victim. The junior resident was upset and attempted suicide.
After this matter came to light, the Women's Commission took cognizance. Vice-Chairman of the Commission, Aparna Yadav had got the victim to talk to the Chief Minister. Hindu organizations had also demonstrated on the KGMU campus demanding action.
