Jagran correspondent, Maharajganj. An action plan worth Rs 1.21 crore has been approved to repair the dilapidated and damaged electrical wiring of government houses in the district. Under this scheme, re-electrification work will be done in a total of 96 houses. For this, Rs 41.09 lakh has also been released as the first installment, due to which the work is likely to start soon.
Under the scheme, the years old wiring of the residential colony located in the Collectorate complex and other departmental buildings will be replaced. Complaints of short circuit and sparking were being received in many residences, due to which there was a possibility of fire.
In this regard, a proposal was sent to the government by the Public Works Department for re-electrification of 30 Type-1 houses located at the Pooled Housing Headquarters in Maharajganj, along with 15 Type-1 and two Type-2 houses in the PWD office premises, as well as re-electrification of 15 Type-2, 12 Type-3 and six Type-4 houses at the Pooled Housing Headquarters.
Apart from this, re-electrification work is also proposed in 16 type-3 houses in the pooled housing complex located at the district headquarters in front of the police station. Due to which a total approval of Rs 1.21 crore has been received, against which Rs 41.09 lakh has also been released in the first installment.
Additional District Magistrate Dr. Prashant Kumar said that from the prescribed budget, old wires, switches, boards and other electrical equipment will be replaced as per the standards. After completion of the work, the employees living in the residences will be able to get safe and better electricity facilities.
