Mauni Amavasya 2026: Aarti of Mauni Amavasya.
Religion Desk, New Delhi. According to the Hindu calendar, the new moon day of Magha month i.e. Mauni Amavasya is one of the most sacred dates for worship. The importance of this Amavasya being celebrated today is more than all other Amavasyas. On this day, not only is there a tradition of offering charity and bathing in silence, this day is also very auspicious for pleasing the ancestors and getting their blessings.
It is believed that on Mauni Amavasya (Mauni Amavasya 2026), Pitru Dev comes to the earth and blesses his descendants. On this day, after worshiping as per rituals, performing Aarti of Lord Vishnu and Pitra Dev calms Pitra Dosh and brings prosperity in the house, which are as follows -
