Big action against drug smuggling by Mumbai Police.
Digital Desk, New Delhi. मुंबई पुलिस ने इस साल ड्रग तस्करी के खिलाफ बड़ी कार्रवाई की है, जिससे ड्रग माफिया की कमर टूट गई है। 1 जनवरी 2025 से 21 दिसंबर 2025 के बीच पुलिस ने 814 करोड़ 17 लाख रुपये से ज्यादा कीमत के नशीले पदार्थ जब्त किए हैं।
Police have exposed the smuggling of MD or Mephedrone, known by the codeword 'Anty' in the drug market. This year the police have seized more than 275 kg of MD and arrested 376 smugglers. Investigation has revealed that smugglers used to try to escape from the police by using codewords, but through technical surveillance the police cracked these codewords.
Police have seized 10.949 kg of cocaine, which is worth about Rs 84.40 crore. Additionally, more than 1,340 kg of ganja, worth more than Rs 44 crore, has been recovered. A large consignment of cough syrup containing heroin, hashish and codeine has also been seized by the police.
Strictness on those who consume also
Mumbai Police's action is not limited to just big smugglers, but a strict stance has also been taken against drug abuse. Out of the total cases registered, 6,276 cases are related to drug consumption only, out of which 5,242 people have been arrested. Apart from this, 15,341 strips of tablets like Alprozolam and Nitravate have also been seized.
