Jagran correspondent, Jehanabad. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team investigating the death of NEET student in Patna reached Jehanabad for the third time on Thursday.
A five-member team, which also includes a woman inspector, reached the student's maternal uncle's village located in Makhdumpur police station area to take the investigation forward.
The team thoroughly interrogated the student's maternal uncle and other family members for several hours. Earlier on February 17 also, a five-member CBI team had come to Jehanabad.
Brother's mobile was confiscated earlier
That day, the girl's parents, brother, sister-in-law, grandmother and aunt were interrogated in detail in her native village. During that time the mobile phone of the student's brother was also confiscated.
On getting information regarding the mobile phone, it was told that it has been given for repairing in Makhdumpur. After this the team reached the concerned shop, where the shop was found closed. The mobile phone was later recovered from an adjacent paan shop.
While returning to Patna, the CBI team had called the student's maternal uncle to Patna for questioning on Wednesday, but when he did not arrive, the team itself reached Makhdumpur and started questioning.
The team had also reached on 15th February
Earlier, on February 15, a 20-member CBI team led by IG and SP level officers had reached the student's village. After hours of interrogation, the team took with them many important materials related to the student for investigation.
It is noteworthy that on the night of 14th February, for the first time, a threatening handwritten note was thrown at the student's house, in which the entire family was threatened to be killed. After this, on the night of 16th February, a pamphlet was thrown and a threat was made to kill the student's brother.
The CBI investigation, which started from the Girls Hostel in Patna, has now moved beyond the victim's village to her maternal uncle's house, due to which it is expected that new aspects will come to light in the case.
