Jagran correspondent, Nuh. The only Gandhi Park built on the Gurugram-Alwar road in Nuh is becoming a victim of neglect. It is said that last year it was repaired by spending more than Rs. 10 lakh, but even after spending so much money, the facilities here are negligible.
The only park built in 2005 is not being taken care of. There is a gathering of stray animals in the park. The high mask lights installed here have been broken for a long time. Local people have accused the city council of indifference towards the park. The people of the city have also demanded to repair the park.
broken high mast lights
Let us tell you that Nuh district came into existence in 2005. At that time, a park in the name of Gandhi was built here on the Gurugram-Alwar road by spending about Rs 17 lakh. In which the statue of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi was also installed.
The park built with the money spent from the MP coat was built in a very organized manner at that time, trees, plants and chairs for sitting were even arranged around the four walls of the park. But at present this park is in a pathetic condition. The situation is such that the chairs installed here were also broken.
The park remains waterlogged throughout the rainy season. There are heaps of dirt nearby. But there is no attention in the name of cleanliness. There is a gathering of stray people in the park. But the NP administration is not concerned about this. NAP had also installed high mast lights here, but these have been lying damaged for a long time.
Last year, Rs 10 lakh was spent on repairs.
There is darkness in the park at night. That's why no one comes here anymore. Sources say that last year an amount of more than Rs 10 lakh was spent for the repair and maintenance of the park here. The allegation is that this amount spent was merely for providing food.
All this is the result of the collusion of NAP officials. However, local people have lodged a complaint against CM Vind regarding the matter. In which a demand has been made to conduct an investigation.
Local residents Khalil Ahmed, Asif Ali, Sunil Kumar say that this is the only park in the city of 35 thousand, where people could sit, but due to lack of timely repair and maintenance, it is shedding tears over its poor condition. The people of the city have appealed to the Municipal Council officials to improve the deteriorating condition of the park.
Work was done in the park some time ago, the park was repaired, but still if there is any deficiency here, it will be rectified by the Municipal Council. There will be arrangements for this soon.
