On the recommendation of Chaibasa SP, a review at the police headquarters will decide who will get the reward money.
Dilip Kumar, Ranchi. The reward amount offered to the Maoists will be distributed among the team that killed 17 Maoists during the recent Operation Megaburu in Saranda of West Singhbhum district.
Who will be entitled to the reward money will be decided by the recommendation of SP Chaibasa and the review report of the police headquarters. Not only this, only the amount of reward declared by Jharkhand Government and Odisha Government on Maoists will be given to the recommended security force, the reward amount declared by NIA will not be given.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had also announced reward money on many Maoists. There is a provision to give the reward amount announced by NIA in case of arrest of the concerned Maoist. In case of killing, the reward amount announced by NIA is not received.
It is noteworthy that apart from Jharkhand Government, Odisha Government had also announced reward amount for the killed Anal, Anmol and Amit Munda. Apart from Jharkhand, Odisha, NIA had also announced reward against Anal and Amit Munda. Of the 17 Maoists killed, reward money was declared only on seven.
The total reward amount announced on all these seven Maoists is Rs 3 crore 84 lakh, which will be distributed among the identified security forces. No reward was declared on other Maoists of the cadre.
Officers and soldiers deserving rewards will be marked like this
SP Chaibasa will be responsible for identifying the officers and soldiers eligible for rewards. SP Chaibasa will identify which officers and soldiers of Jharkhand Jaguar, Cobra, CRPF and District Force were involved in Operation Megaburu in Saranda.
SP Chaibasa will send his recommendation to IG Abhiyan at Police Headquarters through DIG Kolhan and IG Ranchi. IG operations will send it to DGP through ADG operations. DGP will review it.
She will also take opinion on the said list from Special Branch, IB and CRPF. After this the final list will be sent to the Home Department. The reward amount declared in Jharkhand will be sent from the Home Department to SP Chaibasa, from where the said amount will be distributed. Jharkhand Police will correspond with Odisha Police for the reward amount announced in Odisha.
That amount will also be sent from Odisha to SP Chaibasa after the paper process, after which the distribution of the said amount will also be done from the office of SP Chaibasa.
Of the 17 Maoists killed, only seven had rewards announced.

Rapa Munda (Sub Zonal Committee Member), Babita (Area Committee Member), Mansidh alias Rajesh (Area Committee Member), Purnima (Area Committee Member), Somwari Purti (Member), Dulbu alias Bulbul Alda (Area Committee Member), Jonga (Cadre), Soma Honhaga (Cadre), Mukti Honhaga (Cadre) and Sarita (Cadre).
