Health department officials inspecting the district hospital

Jagran correspondent, Bareilly. There is no fraud in the reports that the health department officials are sending to the government. To investigate this, high-level teams formed by the government conducted a surprise inspection on Friday. During this period, many disorders were found in the district and women's hospitals. Also, health services were being affected in many places due to lack of equipment and staff. Whereas the condition of the three hundred bed hospital was even worse.

Here the CBC machine installed for X-ray and blood test in pathology was found faulty. Besides, the oxygen plant was also found stalled due to a malfunction. These teams will prepare the investigation report and submit it to the government. During this period there was chaos among the departmental officers. To know the ground reality of health services, Lucknow Division's Additional Director (Medical Health and Family Welfare) Dr. GP Gupta suddenly reached the district hospital at around 8:10 in the morning.

First of all he got departmental information from Medical Superintendent Dr. LK Saxena. After this he reached pathology and got information about blood and urine tests. After this he checked the arrangements of the X-ray room. Information was given about the posting of two radiologists, Dr. Rajkumar Gupta and Dr. Rajeev Ranjan.

After this, he reached the OT of the district hospital and also took information from the doctors. AD Dr. Gupta told what is the problem in doing surgery with laser. Also, if there is shortage of any equipment, then prepare a proposal for the same and send it to the government, it will be approved soon. After this he checked the men's ward, children's ward, emergency as well as cold wave ward and night shelter.

On the other hand, the team led by Joint Director (Medical Health and Family Welfare) Dr. SK Dhruv reached the three hundred bed hospital. CMS Dr. Intezar Ali had gone out there for inspection. In his place, Deputy DTO Dr. Amit Kumar remained with the team. Here JD found a lot of problems.

The X-ray machine installed in the hospital was found to be out of order for a long time, due to which the patients were not able to be examined. The CBC machine installed in the pathology lab for blood related tests was also found not working. Apart from this, the sensor of the oxygen plant which was installed after spending several crores was also found not working. Deputy DTO said that information about this had been sent. It will be rectified soon.

Expressed displeasure over not writing medicines on patient's prescription

When JD Dr. SK Dhruv reached Dental Surgeon Dr. Subika during inspection in 300 bed hospital, the name and address of the patient were being written on the prescription but the complete medicines were not being recorded. On this, all the medicines should be clearly written. Apart from this, after seeing the OPD register of an eye surgeon, he said that this record should be with CMS.

Due to lack of guards, theft happens every day in three hundred bed hospital

Incidents of theft are happening every day in the three hundred bed hospital. JD Dr. AK Dhruv was told by the hospital staff that recently all the six AC wires used in the CT scan were stolen. A few days ago, thieves had also cut the internet connection cable and uprooted the CCTV cameras. The staff demanded deployment of guards to prevent incidents of theft.

Enraged after seeing dirt and dampness in toilets

The teams under the leadership of AD Dr. GP Gupta and JD Dr. AK Dhruv found the condition of toilets in the three hundred bed hospital along with the district and women's hospitals to be very bad. There was a lot of dirt everywhere. In the three hundred bed hospital, even the seats were broken and even its pipeline was clogged due to the PK of Gutkha and Paan. Both the officers expressed displeasure on this. Apart from this, instructions were given to maintain cleanliness in the wards also.

Records sought regarding shortage of doctors and other staff

The health department teams from the government also asked about other problems being faced by the staff including doctors in the district hospital. The three hundred bed hospital does not yet have a human resources department i.e. HR. In such a situation, not a single doctor is appointed here. Somehow the work is being carried out here by employing the staff of the district hospital itself.
