State Bureau, Ranchi. The Income Tax Department's major action against Baba Rice Mill and about 15 commission agents associated with it continues for the second day. The Research Branch of the Income Tax Department is continuously raiding a total of 42 locations in Bihar and Jharkhand.
This action, which started on Thursday morning, is continuing in full swing on Friday and important revelations may come to light today.
The Income Tax Department has found strong evidence of trade in paddy and rice worth crores of rupees on raw papers. Preliminary investigation has revealed large-scale income tax evasion and unaccounted assets, although the final figures will be clear only after the raids are completed.
Highest number of locations in Ranchi, Gaya and Aurangabad
This action is being taken simultaneously in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Gaya, Aurangabad and Patna. Most of these locations are said to be in Jharkhand's capital Ranchi and Bihar's Gaya and Aurangabad. About 500 Income Tax officers and employees are involved in the raid.
Action against these companies and directors
Income Tax Department teams have conducted searches at the offices and residences of Baba Rice Mill, its associated Baba Agro Food and Baba Food Processing Private Limited. Along with this, company directors Yogesh Sahu, S. The whereabouts of Mohanty, Raj Kumar Lakhotia, Sanchita Jaiswal, Manish Kumar, Rakhi Sahu, Ekta Sahu, Amit Kumar and Gyan Prakash Sahu are also being investigated.
The locations of commission agents and chartered accountants were also searched.
Apart from the premises of commission agents involved in paddy trading in Gaya and Aurangabad, Income Tax Department teams have also searched documents at the premises of chartered accountants associated with these traders.

According to sources, the Income Tax Department can make public important details related to the raid today. The documents received by the department are prima facie pointing towards tax evasion worth crores of rupees, the verification of which is underway.
