Python seen in Meerut
Jagran correspondent, Meerut. A python has been seen in the drain under the bridge of Jagriti Vihar Ring Road Extension Sarai Kali for the last two days. This python was seen on Thursday too, but it had dodged the forest department team that reached here and entered the tunnel. On Friday, this python came out of the tunnel and after sunbathing comfortably, entered the tunnel again. The forest department team was informed, but no one arrived.
About two months ago, three pythons were seen by children playing cricket in this drain of Jagriti Vihar. Out of which the Forest Department team had rescued two pythons. Their height was five to six feet. The third big dragon had suddenly disappeared.
Now this third dragon is visible again. Local residents Suresh Chandra, Mukesh Kumar, Monu told that the python came out for sunbathing on Friday and remained sitting in the sun for about half an hour. During this time, student leader Vineet Chaprana also arrived and informed the forest department team, but the team did not reach even for an hour. After this the python again entered the tunnel.
atmosphere of panic among people
There is population around this drain. Here is Bhagirath Enclave, Saraikaji, South X, Jagriti Vihar Sector 8 Colony. People's houses are only 100 meters away from the drain. Some people rear cows here. Sureshchandra told that he is afraid that the python might enter his cattle enclosure at night and swallow the cow.
We received information about the python on Thursday. An immediate team was sent, but information was not received on Friday. If found, a team would have been sent and the python rescued. The team will be deployed there. Will rescue the python soon.
