After heavy rain on Friday night in Gamdi Extension, about 50 feet long parking wall suddenly collapsed.

Jagran correspondent, East Delhi. After heavy rain on Friday night, about 50 feet long parking wall suddenly collapsed in Gamri Extension of North-East Delhi. More than half a dozen vehicles parked in the street were damaged due to falling debris. This accident happened in C-block, street number seven of Gamdi Extension. It was fortunate that no one was present in the street at the time of the incident, otherwise a major accident could have happened.

Hearing the sound of the wall falling, people nearby came out of their houses. Cars and two-wheelers buried under the debris were badly damaged. As soon as the information was received, Osmanpur police station, fire brigade and NDRF team reached the spot. After about an hour of hard work, the debris was removed and the buried vehicles were taken out. Local people allege that illegal parking was being operated here for a long time and the condition of the wall was very dilapidated. Many times demands were made to the parking operators to repair the wall, but the complaints continued to be ignored. People say that if this wall had fallen during the day, a major accident could have happened. The police is investigating the matter
