Jagran correspondent, Kanpur. Trains remained a problem for passengers on the last day of the year 2025. The night train arrived on the second day and the morning train in the evening. Timings of evening trains were also shown to arrive late at night. Due to this, the passengers could not reach home on time and celebrate the New Year. 62 trains including Tejas, Shramshakti, Vande Bharat arrived late at the Central Station by 17 hours. Passengers kept waiting for the trains. 1295 passengers canceled their journey.

Trains continue to get delayed due to fog. Passengers have to wait for trains in the cold. Passengers traveling in long distance trains are facing distress. They are expressing their displeasure on the official X account of Railways. On Wednesday, the timing of New Delhi Vande Bharat Express Varanasi to Kanpur Central was shown at 10:37 pm instead of 6:30 pm.

Tejas six hours late

Tejas Express was delayed by more than six hours in reaching Kanpur Central from New Delhi. The train arrived at 2:45 pm instead of 8:35 pm. The arrival time of Shramshakti Express at Kanpur Central was scheduled at 6:20 am, but this train arrived seven hours late at 1:20 pm. Barauni New Delhi Special was delayed for more than 17 hours. It reached Kanpur Central from Barauni at 3:44 pm instead of 10 pm the next day. Kashi Mahakal Express arrived late by 8:30 hours, LTT Prayagraj Special by 9:30 hours, Bihar Sampark Kranti by six hours, Sealdah Rajdhani by seven hours, Shatabdi Express from New Delhi to Kanpur by 2:33 hours.

These trains were late in Fatehpur

Here, a two-hour block was taken for track repair in Unnao, trains remained standing at the station.

Track repair work was done on the down railway line of Jaitipur railway station. Due to this, train movement was affected for two hours. During this period many trains were stopped at Unnao Junction. After completion of the work, the trains were dispatched. The Kanpur-Lucknow rail route is being upgraded under Mission Raftaar. On Wednesday, a two-hour block was carried out from 12 noon to 2 pm on the down line of Jaitipur railway station for repair of sleepers and inspection of tracks. Due to which 15744 Farakka Express and 12180 Lucknow Intercity Express (Agra Fort) remained standing at Unnao station for an hour. The passengers looked distressed in the cold.

Whereas 64212 MEMU passenger train reached the station three hours late. Along with this, 12003 and 12004 Shatabdi Express trains remained cancelled. Many other passenger trains also reached their destination late from their scheduled time. Passengers kept waiting for trains in Galan at the station. After completion of the work, the trains were dispatched. Station Superintendent UK Singh said that many trains were stopped at Unnao Junction due to work at Jaitipur station. He was sent away after the work was completed. To protect the passengers from the cold, the municipality has made arrangements for bonfire in the station premises. Along with this, a night shelter has also been built.

Jhansi-Lucknow Intercity will run regularly from January 3

Jhansi: Jhansi-Lucknow Intercity, which was canceled two days a week due to fog, will now run regularly from January 3. Due to fog, Jhansi-Lucknow Intercity (11109/11110) was stopped from operating on Saturdays and Sundays in the week between 1 December to 28 February 2026. The problems of the passengers had increased due to the cancellation of this train. In view of the problems of passengers, Railways had sent a proposal to the headquarters to run this train regularly. This proposal was sent to the Railway Board from the headquarters. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Coaching) Aman Verma said that after getting the permission, it will be operated regularly from January 3.

Amrit Bharat Express 16 and Daryai Express arrived in Etawah with a delay of 13 and a half hours on the second day.

With the Shatabdi of Down being canceled on Wednesday, Amrit Bharat Express which was supposed to arrive on Tuesday was delayed by 16 hours and Daryai Express reached the junction on Wednesday afternoon on the second day after running late by 13 and a half hours. Apart from this, one and a half dozen up and down passenger trains also arrived late by one hour to more than ten and a half hours. Down's Amrit Bharat Express, which runs between Delhi and Ayodhya, reaches Etawah Junction at 6.30 am every day. Due to fog, it reached Etawah at 11.25 am on Wednesday, instead of Tuesday, with a delay of 16 hours 57 minutes.

Apart from this, the Daryai Express was delayed by 13 hours 23 minutes and arrived at 2:13 pm on Wednesday instead of Tuesday. Apart from this, Down's Netaji Kalka Express arrived late by 3 hours 27 minutes, Muri Express by 2 hours 12 minutes, NorthEast Express by 1 hour 14 minutes, Jodhpur Howrah by one hour 26 minutes. Whereas Down Shatabdi remained canceled on Wednesday.

Up Patna Kota train from Lucknow to Delhi will travel in 5 hours 41 minutes, Bikaner Prayograj Express 4 hours 53 minutes, Unchahar Express 10 hours 11 minutes, Ghazipur Bandra Express 4 hours 52 minutes, Vaishali Express 8 hours 19 minutes, Kaifiyat Express 8 hours 40 minutes, Shatabdi Express 2 hours 53 minutes, Magadh Express 6 hours 30 minutes, Marudhar Express 5 hours 55. minutes, Awadh Express 8 hours, Aligarh Fast MEMU 3 hours 5 minutes and Gomti Express reached the junction with a delay of 4 hours 5 minutes on Wednesday.

Kalindi and Chhapra Express arrived late due to fog in Farrukhabad.

Due to fog, the operation of trains and roadways buses is being affected. Passengers remained troubled due to late arrival of Kalindi and Chhapra Express. Due to decrease in the number of passengers in roadways buses, the income has also decreased. The arrival time of Bhiwani - Prayagraj Kalindi Express here is 5:35 am. This train arrived here at 11:30 am on Wednesday. The arrival time of Chhapra - Mathura Express at Farrukhabad is 5:20 PM. This train arrived here at 7.04 pm. Fog is also affecting the operation of roadways buses. The number of passengers has also decreased. The target of daily income of local depot from the headquarters has been set at Rs 17.84 lakh. For the last several days, the average income is Rs 14 lakh per day. Operations in-charge Gauri Shankar said that due to extreme cold the number of passengers has reduced.
