Jagran correspondent, Bareilly. There are preparations to identify the city's Pilibhit Bypass Road as one of the widest roads in the district. The Divisional Commissioner gave instructions to brainstorm with BDA, Bridge Corporation and Municipal Corporation officials regarding road widening and prepare an action plan soon. For this, officials have been instructed to explore the possibility of constructing two service roads with eight lanes and five and a half meter footpaths or two service roads with six lane roads and underpasses at intersections.
It is believed that soon BDA officials can start a joint survey with the officials of Setu Nigam, PWD and other departments and start the effort to get the project off the ground. After converting Shahjahanpur Road, Badaun Road, Bisalpur Road and Rampur Road of the city into four and six lanes, now Pilibhit Bypass Road is being widened. For this, BDA has also started construction of four lane road from Barrier-2 to Bada Bypass.
As for the remaining part of the route, from Barrier-2 to Satellite, BDA has prepared an action plan of Rs 160 crore for six lanes and five and a half meter service road on both sides of the route. Amidst the preparations for widening of the road, Divisional Commissioner Bhupendra S Chaudhary held a meeting with officials of BDA, Municipal Corporation, Bridge Corporation and other departments on Tuesday.
Said that the possibility of underpass should also be explored at all the intersections along the six lanes and service roads. On this, BDA officials expressed the possibility of the cost of the project increasing in case of construction of underpass.
On this, the Divisional Commissioner suggested making an eight-lane road and service roads on both sides. Also said that after conducting survey on both the aspects, a preliminary report should be prepared regarding the cost etc., after which further decision will be taken.
