Dinesh Sharma, Chakradharpur. Within two months in November-December 2024, PLFI had killed 6 people in Gudri and Tebo areas. After which the villagers killed four militants in retaliation.
The prevailing situation of jungle raj in the area was such that the police administration remained silent in the entire incident. The police kept saying that they would take cognizance of the incidents only after the dead body was recovered, whereas even after more than a year has passed, the police has nothing to say.
Even after the news of the death of more than 10 people, including two youths from President Draupadi Murmu's village, was published in the media through villagers, the police could neither trace the two youths from the President's village nor anyone else.
More than a year after the incident, PLFI militants are once again becoming active in the area. In response to his activism, the villagers are also united and holding meetings.
In these meetings, villagers are discussing starting Sendra campaign against PLFI again on the lines of last year.
In such a situation, it would not be surprising if some day we get information about a major incident taking place in the area. Like before, the police-administration is still negligent in the entire episode. He is not aware of the rising temperature in the ravines.
There was a bloody conflict a year ago
Let us tell you that P. Seeing the government and police administration helpless in the Lomaharshak incidents that took place one after another in November-December 2024 in Gudri, a highly Naxal-affected and extremely inaccessible area of Singhbhum, the villagers took up arms and revolted against the Naxalites.
After which, in a week in December 2024, four PLFI militants were killed by the villagers in one action after another.
People of more than thirty villages had met and prepared the complete strategy of this movement. The people of these villages had launched a comprehensive and total war-like movement against the PLFI Naxalites. Under which the villagers started talking about the complete destruction of PLFI.
Militants lost their senses in front of villagers
PLFI militants were shocked to see the attitude of the villagers. They had fled the area. Thousands of villagers from more than 30 villages of Gudri block of the district were standing at the front with bows and arrows and traditional weapons.
Police-like search operations were being conducted in an area of 40 to 50 km in the hilly areas of the area. In this sequence, the villagers had killed PLFI group leader Mota Tiger, Gomiya and two others. Mota Tiger is the nephew of former Naxalite Shanichar Surin who has been killed.
The villagers were also searching for some other militants. During the campaign by the villagers, even the market markets of the area remained closed for several days. PLFI Naxalites killed Binod Tanti and Ghansa Topno of Giru village on 24 November.
Two days later, on 26 November, Naman Lomga of Senregada was also killed in Bhardiha market. Earlier, three hawkers were murdered in Tebo police station area.
Villagers took up arms due to government's indifference
Even after these massacres, the police administration did not take any concrete action. Angered by this, seeing no other option, the villagers themselves took up arms and vowed to eliminate them.
Even during the previous tenure of Hemant Soren, immediately after coming to power, in January 2020, seven people were killed by Pathalgarhi supporters in Burugulikera village of Gudri.
After which, seeing the seriousness of the matter, CM Hemant Soren and the then Governor Draupadi Murmu visited separately and consoled the villagers.
