Jagran correspondent, Agra. Law lessons are being taught to policemen in the Commissionerate, but some policemen have not even been able to study the first lesson. In the case of firing in Shahganj, the investigator crossed all limits of negligence. Without cutting the arrest slip in the case diary and without filling the arrest form, the outpost in-charge reached the Special Chief Judicial Magistrate Court to seek remand of the accused.
After looking at the files, the court rejected the remand, calling it illegal. Also, a letter has been written to the Director General of Police and the Commissioner of Police for action against the investigator.
In Shahganj, son and nephew of retired inspector were arrested for shooting.
On the night of January 11, a gang of history-sheeters shot Raghavendra, son of retired Inspector Surendra Singh, and nephew Tarun in Indra Colony of Shahganj area. In this case, Surendra Singh had filed a case against Vinay Pratap uff VP, Shariq, Anas, Prince and others in Shahganj police station under murderous assault and other sections. On January 16, Jagdishpura police arrested Danish, a resident of Midhakur, with a pistol. He had also given protection to the history-sheeters accused of firing in Shahganj.
Special Chief Judicial Magistrate rejected the remand and sent a letter to take action against the outpost in-charge.
Jagdishpura police arrested him and presented him in the court, from where the remand was approved. Meanwhile, outpost in-charge Shahganj division Akshay Rana also reached the court regarding Nawajis, a resident of Soron Katra, who was involved in the conspiracy in the firing case by Shahganj police station. Along with Nawajis, they also captured Danish from Jagdishpura police. Because during interrogation he had also informed the police about his involvement in the Shahganj incident.
The arrest form was not even filled and no reason was given.
They took both the accused to the court of Special Chief Judicial Magistrate Achal Pratap Singh. But, he did not cut any note for the arrest of case diary Danish. The arrest form was also not filled nor was the reason for the arrest told to Danish. The court considered this case illegal and said that the investigator has violated the principles given in the legal system. There has been gross negligence by the investigator in the investigation. If remand is granted on the application submitted for remand, it will be against the law.
Court orders release of Danish
The court rejected Danish's remand and ordered him to be released. While accepting the remand of Nawazish, orders were given to send him to judicial custody. After this, the police sent Danish to jail in the Arms Act case registered in Jagdishpura and Nawazish in the case of conspiracy to commit a murderous attack registered in Shahganj.
Judicial officers taught law lessons in crime meeting
Many cases have already come to light in Commissionerate Agra where remand was rejected. On Monday, Additional Police Commissioner Rambadan Singh held a crime meeting of police station in-charges in the police line. Judicial officers were also called in this. Judicial officers told the police officers that the investigators are often negligent in writing due to which the remands are being rejected.
