Jagran correspondent, Jamshedpur. President Draupadi Murmu is reaching Jamshedpur on her historic visit on Monday. Murmu, who is coming to Iron City on an official visit for the first time after becoming the President, will arrive in a special helicopter (chaper) of the Indian Army. Before this, she will reach Ranchi on 28th December and will stay there for the night at Raj Bhawan, which has now been named 'Lok Bhawan'.
On Monday morning, she will take off from Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi in an Army chopper and will land at Sonari Airport at around 10:20 am. The district administration has put in all its strength for their grand welcome and minute-to-minute programme. The President will be given a traditional guard of honor as soon as he lands at Sonari Airport. From here his convoy will leave by road directly for Dishom Jaherathan located in Karandih.
Worship in traditional attire and address in Santali
The program to be organized in Karandih will be very emotionally and culturally important. The President will offer prayers at Dishom Jaherathan here in traditional tribal attire. The occasion will witness the garlanding of the statue of Pandit Raghunath Murmu, the father of Ol Chiki Lipi and the conclusion of the centenary celebrations of Ol Chiki Lipi. According to the organizers, the President can address the gathering present there in Santali language, which will be a proud moment for the local people. About 100 special guests from India and abroad are also participating in this program.
Attended NIT convocation ceremony
After the program at Karandih, the President will leave for the National Institute of Technology (NIT) located at Adityapur in Seraikela-Kharsawan district. Here she will attend the convocation ceremony of the institute as the chief guest and will award degrees to meritorious students. The NIT campus has also been decorated grandly and tight security arrangements have been made.
The journey will start from Lok Bhavan
This visit of the President is special in many ways. The Raj Bhavan in Ranchi where Draupadi Murmu, who was the Governor of Jharkhand from 2015 to 2021, lived, will now see 'Lok Bhawan' written at the entrance. After spending two nights here, she will use the army chopper for programs in Jamshedpur and Gumla. The entire Kolhan division is on alert mode regarding his visit.
