Road Festival With Music And Dance In Gurugram, Strong Demand For Construction Of 24 Meter Road

Grand organization of street festival on Sunday at Satya The Hive Mall premises.

Dialogue Associate, New Gurugram. A grand street festival was organized on Sunday in the premises of Satya The Hive Mall, Sector-102, Dwarka Expressway. The event was organized by Dwarka Expressway Gurugram Development Association (DXP-GDA) in collaboration with Mission 7374. Nearly 4000 citizens participated in the event, making it the largest ever community civic event in the Dwarka Expressway area.

Music, dance, patriotic songs, Qawwali, Zumba, Vakathan and various sports activities were organized in the street festival. Equal participation of children, youth, women and senior citizens gave the event a festive look. The purpose of the event was to raise civic awareness along with entertainment. About 10 schools participated in this occasion. Cultural performances by students added energy and positive message to the programme.

The highlight of the event was the huge human chain formed in support of the demand for construction and early completion of 24 meter wide roads connecting the societies along the Dwarka Expressway. Organizers said the road is not just a concrete structure but the lifeline of the city. If roads are in disarray then traffic, safety and development will be affected.

DXP-GDA Convener Sunny Singh said that Road Utsav is not just an event but a celebration of civic consciousness. Meanwhile, Mission 7374 President Gaurav Malik said that broken roads are actually the hallmark of broken institutions and systemic reform is necessary for a permanent solution. The organizers clarified that the citizens of Dwarka Expressway area will continue the peaceful and positive mass movement for their right to basic infrastructure.
