Keshav Tyagi, Hapur. A major robbery incident in broad daylight near GS Medical College located at Pilkhuwa NH-9 in Pilkhuwa area of the police station has spread panic in the area. Here three scooty-riding scoundrels looted around Rs 60 lakh from rice trader's accountant Rajesh and fled away. Police have started investigating the case and claimed to make an arrest soon. As soon as information about such a huge robbery was received, DIG and ADG of Meerut zone also reached the spot. Also, four police teams have been deployed in search of the miscreants.
Three unknown miscreants surrounded him
According to the information, accountant Rajesh was going on a bike with Rs 60 lakh in connection with some payment. As soon as he reached near GS Medical College located on Pilkhuwa NH-09, three unknown miscreants riding a scooter surrounded him. The miscreants threatened Rajesh and snatched the bag full of money in his hand and fled from the spot. The entire incident happened in broad daylight, causing panic among the passersby.
Orders issued to increase blockade
Pilkhuwa police reached the spot as soon as information about the incident was received. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vineet Bhatnagar himself inspected the spot. He has given instructions to scan the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby. Besides, orders have been issued to intensify the checking operation and increase the blockade in search of miscreants.
ASP Vineet Bhatnagar said that it seems to be an organized incident. We are identifying the accused on the basis of CCTV footage and other clues. Very soon he will be arrested and the entire matter will be revealed. Vigilance has been increased to maintain law and order in the area.
The series of robbery incidents is not stopping
Recently, a robbery worth Rs 85 lakh was committed in the same area of Hapur. Police had arrested six miscreants in the case. Such incidents are raising questions regarding the safety of businessmen and common people. Local traders are now afraid of traveling with money and are demanding better security from the police. Police have appealed to the people that if anyone has any information about the miscreants or the incident, they should immediately contact Pilkhuwa police station or the police control room. Investigation is ongoing.
