State Bureau, Patna. A case of fraud by three private educational institutions in the Bihar Student Credit Action Scheme by private educational institutions in the state has come to light.

In this, the names of Vivekananda Paramedical and Nursing College and Magadh Paramedical and Nursing Institute (Gaya ji) of Gaya district and Baba Rajaram College of Education of Lakhisarai have appeared.

Taking a strict stance on this, Naseem Ahmed Ahmed, officer in-charge of Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, has summoned the directors and principals of the concerned institutions within a week to present their evidence-based side.

Education department will lodge FIR against directors and principals

After inquiry and investigation, there will be a recommendation to register an FIR against the culprits and cancel the recognition of the institutions. Officer-in-charge Naseem Ahmed on Saturday warned the directors and principals of the concerned institutions that if they do not present an evidence-based side within a week, an FIR will be registered for fraud.

Other legal action will also be taken. He has also sent copies of the irregularities committed by the institutions to the concerned District Magistrates.

Education loans given to more students than seats

According to him, Vivekananda Paramedical and Nursing College of Gaya ji and Baba Rajaram College of Education of Magadh Paramedical and Nursing Institute, Lakhisarai have deliberately made irregularities in the education loan.

60 seats were earmarked in B.Sc Nursing course in session 2024-25 in Vivekananda Paramedical and Nursing College.

But, under the Student Credit Card Scheme, 77 students applied on the portal. This was also confirmed by the college.

Among them, education loan was paid to 72 students from the level of Bihar State Education Finance Corporation. Similarly, 60 seats were earmarked for B.Sc Nursing course in Magadh Paramedical and Nursing Institute in the session 2024-25. But, under the Student Credit Card Scheme, 73 students applied on the portal.

There will be a recommendation to cancel recognition

This was confirmed by the college. Of them, payment was made to 68 students from the level of Bihar State Education Finance Corporation. On the other hand, in Baba Rajaram College of Education, Lakhisarai, 60 seats were earmarked for B.Sc Nursing course and 60 seats for GNM course in the session 2024-25.

But, the college applied for education loan to 103 B.Sc Nursing and 93 GNM students under the Student Credit Card Scheme and approved it. These students were paid from the level of Bihar State Education Finance Corporation.
